Norimberk : Zlocin A Soud (Nuremberg: Crime and Court) with photographs by Karel Hajek and text by Vladimir Rypar (text in Czech). A striking and vital pictorial documentation of the 1945/46 Nuremberg trial in the aftermath of the Holocaust. Numerous images from the International Military Tribunal courtroom in sepia-toned gravure as well as war scenes and Nazi leaders (Nuremberg in ruins, party conventions, and high-ranking NSDAP party officials such as Hermann Goering, Rudolf Hess, Baldur von Schirach, Hitler, and others) plus some photographs of concentration camp atrocities that were entered into evidence. Hajek’s photos maintain a delicate balance between matter-of-fact reportage and the representation of the reactions of the participants. – – – – – – – – – This first edition small quarto in stiff photo-illustrated wrappers (with photos on verso as well) is in good general condition for what is a fragile item, with some edge, spine and surface wear, a small crease to the bottom front right cover corner. the interior is in very good condition with some light soiling.
