An amazingly well preserved and rare because of its small paperback format book investigating the lives of women in Japanese society – a travelogue with interviews and a section of photographs by Marc Riboud of street-shots, women at work and leisure printed in beautiful gravure – – – – – – – – – First edition, soft cover with glazed pictorial wraps, in very good condition for its format and age. Binding is very tight with a slight lean and it has clearly not been handled very much. There is some edge wear to the covers, a crease down the spine but the glossy laminate is fully intact. Text pages are slightly tanned from age and a couple of these pages have foxing, but photographic pages are bright and clear. A very good copy of a scarce book.
