In his portfolio The Deerslayers, Krims took pictures of deer hunters who had voluntarily stopped at “deer check stations” so that NYS conservationists could examine the general health of the deer. Pictured posing with their kills, Krims suggested the hunters had much in common with performance art, and odd manifestations of sculpture – – – – – – – – – First edition boxed set of 23 photographic plates and sheet of text signed by Krims laid into a box with a plate on to cover (image number 24 of the set of 24 photographs), this box is number 2458 of 4000 copies, plates are in near fine condition, paper hinge holding the lid and top of the box together is still intact and the box shows wear to the edges, a few stains at the bottom, but has no splits or tears.
